Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are not engaged, a close source has confirmed

Jennifer Lawrence is NOT engaged to boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, close sources have now confirmed.

Last week, the 23-year-old Oscar winning actress was spotted wearing a giant sparkler on her wedding finger as she cosied up to David O. Russell for a new photo, sparking rumours that the on/off couple had secretly got engaged.

Also adding fuel to the fire was a report by the American Sun Times, which claimed to have seen the long-term lovebirds browsing some rather fancy jewellery shops over the weekend.

‘She’s madly in love with him,’ a source told the paper, adding that their engagement was ‘inevitable’.

But when Jen's new bling was noticeably missing from her ring finger at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere in London earlier this week, during which the actress stunned in an ivory-embellished gown by Dior, doubts were cast onto the engagement speculation.

And now, a close source has told E! News that Jennifer and Nickare 'not engaged. The ring is not an engagement ring.'

Boo. Engagement or no engagement, Hoult is nevertheless still the ever-supportive boyfriend - the former Skins star was spotted accompanying his A-list squeeze to the Hunger Games Lodon after-show party on Monday night.

Aw. Even with no wedding bells on the horizon, these two are still one of our absolute favourite down-to-earth couples in showbiz.
