The film’s director, Baz Luhrmann, (the brains behind Moulin Rouge) wants the music to be modern and decided Jay-Z was the only man for the job.
The choice of contemporary sounds is a more unusual choice considering The Great Gatsby is set in 1920s New York and is adapted from F Scott Fitzgerald’s book. But with Jay-Z on board it’s bound to be incredible.
