'January Jones is unapproachable' says Mad Men co-star

'Everyone else is so nice,' child star Jared Gilmore revealed as he leaves the show

Eleven-year-old child star Jared Gilmore has criticised Mad Men actress January Jones for being 'unapproachable,' claiming: 'Everyone else is so nice!'

The actor plays the son of January’s on-screen persona Betty Francis in the hit TV show.

But after resigning from his role, the outspoken mini A-lister had some words of advice for whoever replaces him in the role.

'Be careful around January (Jones),’ he told TV guide.'She's not as approachable as the others. She's really serious about what she does.

‘Everyone else is so nice.'

Gilmore – the third child to play January’s on-screen son Bobby – is leaving to take up a place on upcoming US show Once Upon a Time, as the grandson of Snow White.

No sooner had the comments hit the headlines yesterday than another of January’s co-stars – this time John Slattery – came forward, this time in defence of the star.

'Well, it's an intimidating character,’ he said, blasting the 11-year-old’s comments. 'I mean, that's the character. Betty Draper is an intimidating woman I suppose, if you were a 7-year-old boy [or] her son.'

Earlier this year the starlet was slammed by Hangover star Zach Galifianakis, who branded her ‘very rude’.

‘I was at a party - I'd never met her - and she was like, “Come sit down”, he said of the incident.

‘So I sit at her table and talk for 10 minutes, and she goes, “I think it's time for you to leave now.” So I say, “January, you are an actress in a show and everybody's going to forget about you in a few years, so f---ing be nice,” and I got up and left.’

Ouch.
