Judges send home Devlin after final sing off with Misha B

After a singing showdown with bottom two veteran Misha B, judges sent home 17-year old Janet Devlin on yesterday evening's X Factor.

She forgot the words to her first song on Saturday night so perhaps it is of no surprise that Janet Devlin was the latest contestant to be booted off the singing show.

The Northern Ireland native forgot the lyrics to the Hanson track MMMBop (who on Earth knows the words anyway?!) in the Guilty Pleasures round on Saturday night and found herself singing for survival against Misha B.

Despite a great rendition of Snow Patrol track Chasing Cars, the 17-year-old couldn't compete with the vocal capabilities of Misha B, who nailed her version of the Fame hit Out Here On My Own by Irene Cara.

Judge Louis Walsh said: 'It's getting tougher and tougher. I'm taking everything into consideration, judging on last night's two performances and the sing-off. The act I'm sending home is Janet.'

Fellow panellist Tulisa Contostavlos also followed suit saying: 'I'm going to base my decision on the person who has a career after the show, who will sell records and sellout arenas.

'I'm sorry to say I'm sending home Janet.'

Next in line was a tearful Kelly Rowland who refused to decide between her two acts, inevitably sending Janet straight home with a majority verdict - without Gary even needing to vote.

A distressed Kelly said: 'I know how great these two young ladies are. Janet, I admire you as a musician and you bring something so unique to the music industry. I absolutely love you and adore you.

'Misha, my goodness girl, you just want this so bad. I have to pass it, I'm sorry.'

The Sunday show opened with star performances by Olly Murs and Jessie J, before the live stage finalists sang this years charity single Wishing On A Star- with a little help from X Factor allumni JLS and One Direction.

Little Mix, Amelia Lily, Marcus Collins and Misha B will now compete in the semi-final next week.
