Simon Cowell must be eating his words.
Despite famously insisting that he'll never get married, latest reports claim the X Factor mogul has popped the question to new love Mezghan Husseiny.
The couple, who have been dating six months, met on the set of American Idol, where Mezghan worked as a make-up artist.
Simon, 50, is said to be so besotted with the 36-year-old, known as Mish, that he has already presented her with a diamond ring.
According to sources, the loved-up star surprised her during an intimate Valentine's dinner with his ex-flame Jackie St Claire and her husband, Carl Michaelson, at his favourite restaurant, Mr Chow in Knightsbridge.
After making a special announcement, Simon pulled out the sparkler and placed it on Mezghan's finger.
A source told the Mirror: 'Simon may come across as Mr Nasty on screen but he's a big softie at heart. He wanted to do something unexpected and out of character on Valentine's Day and decided to splash out on a ring. Mish was speechless and gave him a huge kiss. He is besotted with her, and she him.'
Simon's alleged romantic offering comes just two years after he claimed he would never marry and more than a year since he split from girlfriend Terri Seymour.
