ICYMI: The Best Bits From The Brit Awards
The tears, the triumphs and the scantily clad
The tears, the triumphs and the scantily clad
Last night the music industry’s finest were out in force for the BRIT Awards 2016 (or maybe we should rename them The Adeles seeing as she scooped up nearly every prize going).
The BRITs wouldn't be the BRITs if it didn’t take us on a rollercoaster of controversy, wow performances, and a few weepy moments – for the artists and us mere mortals.
So in case you missed it, or you just fancy reliving it all again, here are our best moments from last night’s ceremony.
Adele supports Kesha Adele kicked off the show by accepting her first award of the night, and very publicly declared that she is supporting Kesha, who is currently trapped in a contract with Sony after accusing producer Dr. Luke of drugging and raping her. A bold and important move.

Justin Bieber was on fire… …in every sense of the word. The pop star performed hits Love Yourself and Sorry among a stage of flames. Oh we love some pyrotechnics. Was Justin, who made a very humble acceptance speech as he collected his International Male Solo Artist award in Saint Laurent, trying to say he’s like a phoenix rising from the flames, now he’s meant to be a nice person? Or does he just like fire? Who knows.

Ant and Dec and The Mystery Naked Lady The duo looked a mixture of baffled and mildly pleased when a nearly naked woman strolled into shot and stood between the two of them. And who was the surprise streaker? Oh just one of trophy designer Pam Hogg’s guests.
Little Mix were brilliant They may not have won anything, but the girls stole the show with their awe-inspiring performance of Black Magic
Adele laughs, cries, swears, gets excited about Tim Peake Really, where do we start with Adele? The singer dominated the night winning four awards, and each acceptance speech offered something new and wonderful. She went from laughing and joking, to being in floods of tears and swore before ITV could edit it out. But our favourite moment had to be when astronaut Tim Peake presented her with the Global Success Award from Space. Through her tears, the singer said: ‘Thank you. I can’t work out if I’m crying because of that video or because Tim Peake did it. My kid is going to think I’m so cool!’ Aww.
Rihanna and Drake needed to get a room Drake joined Rihanna onstage to perform Work. The performance was stunning from start to finish, but we did feel like we were kind of interrupting something…
David Bowie was beautifully remembered Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman paid an emotional tribute to the late icon. Perhaps the most touching moment was when Gary shared: ‘David faced his illness with dignity, grace and his customary humour, even in dire circumstances. When he wrote to tell me he had cancer, he added, “the good news is I have my cheekbones back.”’
Lorde performed with Bowie’s band David Bowie was a huge fan of Lorde, so it was only fitting that the singer joined his band to perform Life On Mars,
One Direction fans react to only half the band being there Just Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson showed up to accept their Best British Video Award, and the internet responded perfectly...
Oh and this happened…
