Mischa Barton's new show, The Beautiful Life, is cancelled after just two episodes
Mischa Barton's bid for a career comeback has hit a major hurdle after her latest TV show was dropped.
The Beautiful Life: TBL was cancelled after just two episodes and poor audience viewing figures.
Mischa has recently been battling personal problems and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in June.
She was released after a few weeks, but the latest blow to her comeback plans could damage her recovery.
The Beautiful Life starred Mischa and supermodel Elle Macpherson, and was produced by Ashton Kutcher.
It was set in the glamorous world of modelling in New York, but only managed 1.5m viewers on its first showing.

Mischa was playing a model with a drug problem and was shooting her seventh episode when she learnt the show had been dropped.
Repeats of the new series of Melrose Place - starring Ashley Simpson - will take the place of TBL in the schedules.
Mischa, 23, reportedly cut short her recovery to continue filming the show.
Friends of the former O.C. star were said to be concerned that Mischa returned to work so soon after her breakdown.
She has insisted her problems were due to painful surgery on her wisdom teeth.
