Hayden Panettiere ends summer fling with T4's Steve Jones

Hayden Panettiere and Steve Jones looked like love's young dream as they frolicked on a yacht in Cannes last month. But, it seems, it really was just a summer fling – as Hayden has slammed the brakes on the romance.

Yep. Hayden has given lothario Steve a taste of his own medicine by calling the shots – and ditching him.

The Heroes star, 19, reportedly told the Mirror she was just enjoying the single life after recently splitting from her co-star, Milo Ventigmilia.

'I'm single and mingling. Steve lives in London, the distance is a bit too much,' she said.

'Cannes was a great experience. I was on vacation and some friends were going so I decided to come along. It was fun.'

The pair first met in May over dinner at London's Nobu Berkeley, and were soon spotted having a whale of a time on a luxury boat in Cannes.

But, in a separate interview, Hayden hinted she just wasn't that into him.

'I don't know how to date,' she admitted.

'I'm not good at learning that sometimes you don't like someone in that way - and figuring out how to deal with that. Because I don't want to hurt his feelings.'

We're sure that Steve, who's dated Pamela Anderson and Fearne Cotton, will bounce back soon - with another hot blonde!
