Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, George Clooney and Downton Abbey all scooped gongs at the 69th annual awards - see who else won the big prizes at last night's glittering Golden Globes ceremony
The stars were out in force for the 69th annual awards - and it was a good night for the Brits at last night's glittering Golden Globes ceremony.
Kate Winslet won the award for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or TV Movie for her role in Mildred Pierce whilst Brit actor Idris Elba took home his first Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Mini-Series or TV Movie for his role in BBC crime drama Luther. Hit TV show Downtown Abbey has been nominated for four Golden Globe - with leading lady Elizabeth McGovern up for Best Actress in a Mini-Series, Hugh Bonneville nominated for Best Actor, Maggie Smith in the Best Supporting Actress category and the show itself tipped for Best Mini-Series. Cast and crew were delighted last night when it was announced that Downton had won the Best Mini-Series gong.
Other big wins of the night included Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady and Michelle Williams for My Week With Marilyn.
