It’s that time again! The run up to awards season has already begun and this afternoon the nominees for the 69th Golden Globe Awards were announced - with George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling all receiving nods.
Silent movie The Artist attracted the most nominations of all, garnering mentions in six categories, while The Descendants and The Help each gained five.
Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Ryan Gosling both earned two nominations each, while they’ll go up against Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender in the prestigious Best Actor category.
Meanwhile, girl of the moment Rooney Mara was nominated for Best Actress for her role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, alongside Meryl Streep, Tilda Swinton, Viola Davis and Glenn Close.
Other A-listers to receive acting nods include Kate Winslet, Michelle Williams and Owen Wilson, with The Ides of March, Warhorse and Moneyball all featuring in the Best Film category.
