Thanks to George R.R. Martin, nobody’s really sure how Game of Thrones will end. But even the cast likes to speculate. Maisie Williams opened up about her fantasy ending of the show, and it seems like she put a lot of thought into it. And as fan favourite Arya Stark, she’s definitely a good person to ask.
The seventh season of Game of Thrones started up last night, and it only proved how powerful Arya Stark truly is. Considering the show from season one, it’s obvious that she’s transformed immeasurably.
We almost can’t wait to see what she’s like in the eighth and final season.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Williams admitted that '[even] Arya is surprised she has so much power,' which is why her fantasy ending for the show is so great.

'I’ve always had this fantasy in the back of my head — I don’t think it’s a good ending and fans might not like it — but that somebody would sit on the Iron Throne at the end and then they whip their face off and it’s Arya instead,' she revealed to the site. 'I’ve always had that dream.'
Based on what we saw during the seventh season premiere, we don’t think that’s too outlandish. And as fans, we’d be pretty satisfied with that ending. After all, we’ve seen Arya overcome so many obstacles in her young life.
Williams isn’t the only cast member speaking out about the ending. While everyone seems to legitimately be in the dark about how things end up, Kit Harington recently said that he thinks Tyrion is most deserving of the throne.
We’re hoping the writers at least consider Williams’ ideal show-closer. At this stage, anything can happen.
