Things are getting messier between the exes, as they launch a public war of words in their custody battle for daughter Nahla
Halle Berry and her ex Gabriel Aubry have launched into a public war of words as they battle for custody of daughter Nahla, with him calling claims she made 'untrue and irresponsible'.
Berry released a statement yesterday, stating that she was filing for custody of two-year-old Nahla due to 'serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time.'
Now Aubry has retaliated, issuing his own statement to Access Hollywood, which reads: 'While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle’s decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a cancelled film production.'
The film in question is New Year's Eve, a movie due to start filming this week, which Berry stated she had pulled out of so to take 'swift judicial intervention' against Aubry.
The statement continued: 'Gabriel also refuses to air their issues in the press as he believes this may ultimately harm their daughter. The fact is that Gabriel is a caring father who shares custody of Nahla.'
Defending himself, the piece concluded: 'Gabriel fully believes that a consistent and balanced living situation and two loving parents are crucial for their child even if Ms. Berry feels otherwise... Halle’s continuing allegations in the press are untrue and irresponsible.'

The couple split last April after dating for five years. Signs of trouble started back in December, when Aubry filed for shared custody. It had been believed that the couple had an amicable agreement regarding their daughter's care.
