Gossip Girl fans, get ready to add a new TV date in your diary, as the series' 80s spin-off, Valley Girls, is set to hit screens!
A prequel to the all-American teen show, Valley Girls steps back in time to follow the life of Serena's mum, Lily van der Woodsen. Brittany Snow is the young Lily, who judging from the leaked mugshot promo poster, was quite the scandalous wild child back in the day.
Few details of the show have been revealed, but it is known that it will follow Lily's relationship with Rufus Humphrey, who appears in GG as Dan and Jenny's dad. The series will chart Lily’s move from a glitzy boarding school lifestyle in Montecito, California, to a public school in the San Fernando Valley.
Network bosses described the show: 'Caught between two worlds, Lily dives into the fast-paced Sunset Strip and the Hollywood lifestyle of the 80s, journeying over the hill to a world of wealth and excess that used to be her own.'
Intrigued yet? Well, with Gossip Girl leading the way with television's most stylish designer-clad cast, we can't wait to see the 80s fashion statements in store for the young Lily. If the promo is anything to go by, then we're pinning our hopes on plenty of shoulder pads, brights and ra-ra skirts.
The series is set to debut Stateside in May, with no word yet as to when it will hit UK screens. Will you watch the Gossip Girl spin-off? Let us know in the comments box below.
