Fifty Shades of Grey movie cast rumours are showing no signs of slowing down as the latest star to be linked to the role is Gilmore Girls actress, Alexis Bledel.

In America the actress has long been a hot favourite for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, although recent developments show her chances of bagging the coveted role are getting higher.

Us Weekly confirm the actress has signed up to join the cast of FOX’s latest sitcom, Friends and Family and while the show is in the very early stages, if it is aired on the popular channel Alexis will be capitulated into a household name. This of course will only serve to improve her chances of bagging the Fifty Shades of Grey movie role.

Alexis has long been the fan’s favourite to take on the coveted role of Anastasia Steele thanks to her looks that clearly match E.L. James’ description of her heroine who has ‘soft, pale skin, dark hair, blue eyes, and a beauty she doesn’t know she possesses.’

While the movie’s producers are yet to announce which stars will form the movie’s cast, Alexis responded to initial reports of her getting the role with a simple smile posting on Twitter: ‘Wow, I see lots of you want me to play [the part of] Ana in ‘50 Shades of Grey’ ... : )’
