Sir Elton John has been named as the headline act for Bestival 2013. The music veteran will join the likes of Snoop Dogg, MIA, the Wu-Tang Clan, Rob da Bank, Mikill Pane and Franz Ferdinand at the festival's 10th anniversary this year, it has been announced.
No stranger to fancy dress - in 1980 he wore a full Donald Duck costume to play a gig in New York's Central Park - Elton says he's eager to make his festival return.

‘I haven't played any of the major festivals in the UK in recent years, so when the opportunity to play Bestival came up I was very interested,' he says.
‘I've heard that the Bestival audience comes in fancy dress and I can't wait to see that - they must all look amazing from the stage.
Adding: ‘At various times I wore enormous feathered head-dresses, cloaks, hot pants, jumpsuits, clown suits, a Minnie Mouse outfit, French maid, the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty.’

Sir Elton, who will also be taking to the stage at the Grammy Awards for a duet with Ed Sheeran on February 10, added: ‘Wearing fancy dress makes us all feel less inhibited so I think it's a great way to enjoy live music.’
This year's Bestival takes place between 5-8 September at the Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.
