Elton John has revealed that Lady Gaga is indeed the godmother of newborn son Zac.
Sir Elton John has confirmed that Lady Gaga is the godmother to his and partner David Furnish’s newborn son Zachary. The legendary singer made the announcement as part of his performance on Saturday Night Live. Speaking out about his new family, he joked: ‘For those of you concerned that we are unusual parents, don’t worry! It’s not like we are the only two people involved in the child’s life. His godmother is Lady Gaga. That is true – that is not a joke.’
Though met with applause on the show, the new dad went on to earnestly confirm Gaga’s role in his son’s life.
‘Lady Gaga is his actual godmother, which is ironic, because I’ve always said that Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids. And Gaga loves Mars. She says Mars has good schools and great discos.’
Partner David Furnish has already spoken out about his love for the eccentric pop star, previously saying: ‘She's all about inclusiveness and tolerance. She believes that you can be whoever you want to be and that we don't have to live in a world of conformity and that we can all [benefit] from individuality. That's the best message in the world. The freedom to be who you are, do what you want and love who you want to love.’
Gaga herself has previously refused to comment on the reports, telling a BBC Radio Interview: ‘I don’t really want to reveal anything. They’re going to make many lovely announcements about their beautiful son, Zachary.
‘I’m too much of a lady to talk about that on the air.’
