Up-and-coming British songstress Ellie Goulding has been invited to play at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s intimate evening wedding reception at Buckingham Palace, it has been revealed.
THE ROYAL WEDDING: ALL THE LATEST DETATILS
It’s thought the royal couple - who stepped out at Westminster Abbey last night for a final run through of their big day – are ‘big fans’ of the 24-year-old singer, who topped the charts with Elton John hit Your Song earlier this year.
The starlet was reportedly ‘knocked off her feet’ when she received a personal invitation to perform for the royal pair, who both own her 2009 album, Lights.
It’s thought she’ll attend the evening bash with her Radio 1 DJ beau, Greg James.
‘Ellie was knocked off her feet when she received the invitation to perform for Prince William and Kate – and was so hugely honoured when they said they were both big fans of her music,’ one insider told the Daily Mail.

‘She still can’t quite believe that she will perform for the Royal newlyweds, all the young Royal guests and their friends, it hasn’t sunk in yet.’
It’s thought Ellie will play to 300 of Kate and William’s closest friends and family at the intimate evening reception, and could even be set to serenade the newlywed pair with a special song.
This comes as insiders reveal the royal couple are determined to make the evening reception a really fun affair, and different ‘from the formal champagne and canapé reception being thrown by the Queen immediately after the wedding.’
As yet, Ellie is the only confirmed performer at the royal reception party, although rumour has it R&B couple Beyonce and Jay-Z – who are currently in Paris – could make an appearance.
