There was a huge shock last night as James Arthur and Ella Henderson found themselves in the bottom two
X Factor gave us all a shock last night when the super-talented Ella Henderson was sent home, leaving the likes of Chris Maloney in the singing competition.
Ella, 16, found herself in the bottom two with the equally talented James Arthur. Cue lots of nationwide gasps and shouting at the TV screens.
As Ella belted out Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One and James gave some welly to Alicia Keys' track Fallin, the judges failed to decide who should be sent home and took it to deadlock.
X Factor host Dermot O'Leary revealed that Ella had received the least public votes and would no longer be in the competition, leaving most of the nation flabbergasted.
OLLY MURS: I'LL ALWAYS DEFEND THE X FACTOR
Tulisa Contostavlos, who was Ella's mentor, was less than impressed, saying: 'Can I just say this is exactly what I was talking when people are voting for the wrong people.

'These two people should be finalists and it's ridiculous. My decision is obvious, I'm sending home James even though I love you to death.'
Marie Claire's cover girl Nicole Scherzinger then explained her decision to send home Ella: 'No matter what happens today it would be a great tragedy for the show. You are meant for the stars my love, but I've got to stand up for my boy. I'm sending home Ella.'
Louis Walsh said: 'I'm in shock. I hate seeing these two girls so upset. Ella you have so much potential and so much more to give.
TULISA V NICOLE: X FACTOR FASHION
'James, I think you're amazing and a ready made act for a record deal... but the act I'm sending home is James.'
Gary Barlow added: 'We are [supposed to be] voting for the best singers every week I always knew it was coming to this. I'm right behind James from the start so I'm sending home Ella.'
Ella has since been using Twitter to thank her supporters following her shock exit from the show, she wrote: 'So... I just wanna say thank u to all of u dedicated supporters! U are all true #stars and I love u all! X'
Before adding: 'I need u to all stay with me and support me ... Cannot wait till the Xfactor tour... And this is just the beginning! Xx Ella #biglove'
