Russian supermodel, Elena Perminova, snapped back into shape just 60 days after giving birth. Is this a realistic role model for women? The Internet is divided...
From a baby bump to washboard abs in just 60 days. It might sound unachievable, but that's what the Russian supermodel, Elena Perminova did with an intense exercise regime, started just two weeks after she gave birth to her daughter.
Elena revealed on Instagram that 'I started exercising just two weeks afterwards, even though I had a caesarean. There were no breaks at weekends' giving a small insight into the work put into achieving that killer post-baby body. Elena also told a Russian magazine, 'I 'stand' on my knees and elbows and lift my legs one by one, visualising the desired result - a thin waist, provocative hips, well-turned arms.'
The supermodel also took a family holiday as an opportunity to work on her figure: 'For the first time, my husband and I went jogging. Every morning we went to the mountains for couple of hours while my mother or mother-in-law were taking care of the baby. Of course there was nothing glamorous in our looks - sweating and tired, we ran on stones, flies landing on our faces, and the sun was shining. But it was jogging which helped me get rid of extra weight and 'dry up', removing the extra water in my body'.
Proving it is possible to drop every last inch of the baby fat just two months after giving birth seems to have set the Internet alight - with positive and negative results.
Online comments range from 'How much time did she spend with her baby?' to 'why do women use pregnancy as an excuse to get fat?' and the cynical: 'liposuction, money, sickening.'
Elena is married to Russian media tycoon Alexander Lebede, so there's no doubt that her life is very privileged and probably has extra help from nannies. Plus, at just 28-years-old and already in good shape (erm, supermodel?), Elena didn't put on that much weight in the first place, so there wasn't much to lose, which is something to think about when it's your turn to lose your own post-baby wobbly bits.

It's also worth noting that the supermodel also gives out such marital advice as taking a holiday alone, without the kids as 'it seriously improves the atmosphere at home. The woman leaves her mummy image and becomes a seductress. Sasha [Alexander Lebede] and I can fly somewhere away just for three or four days, not longer, even to far the away Maldives.'
