EastEnders trounce rival Coronation Street at this year's awards ceremony
Finally, those EastEnders might have something to smile about in Albert Square.
The BBC soap beat rivals Coronation Street at the Inside Soap awards, winning seven out of 14 trophies.
Easties won the coveted Best Soap gong, and a haul of other awards including Best Storyline.
'This was one of the most hotly contested years for the Inside Soap awards,' said Steven Murphy, editor of the magazine.
'Many categories were neck and neck until voting closed.'

Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater in EastEnders, won Best Actress for the fourth year running.
But the 21-year-old looked less than impressed with her new trophy, as she could barely raise a smile for waiting photographers.
Corrie's Michelle Keegan, 22, bagged Sexiest Female and seemed determined to prove she deserved the title with a sexy, sparkly dress.
Charlie Brooks won Best Bitch for her portrayal of Janine Butcher in EastEnders, while co-star Larry Lamb won Best Bad Boy for his role as Archie Mitchell.
Coronation Street still managed an impressive five trophies, Hollyoaks and The Bill scored one each and Emmerdale left empty handed.
Ali Bastian, who plays PC Sally Armstrong on The Bill, was there with her new Strictly Come Dancing partner.
Ali and Brian Fortuna have recently set tongues wagging that they are doing more than the tango together (what is it with that show?!).
Brian even said he would warn off any hunky soap stars who tried to make a play for Ali. Blimey!
