IS DAN STEVENS LEAVING DOWNTON ABBEY?
According to the Daily Express, the 23-year-old actress is being strongly considered for the part of leading lady Sharon Carter in the next instalment of the Marvel Comics' sequel to Captain America, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, starring opposite Hollywood hunk Chris Evans and scheduled for release in April 2014.
Jessica's character in Downton Abbey, Lady Sybil Crawley, died in childbirth in the current series of the show, so the actress is available for filming the sequel, but is reportedly competing against other young stars including Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke, Teresa Palmer, Imogen Poots and Mad Men's Alison Brie.
Jessica isn't the only young Downton actress being courted by Hollywood; after the show's roaring success in the US, Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Joanne Froggatt (maid Anna Bates), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) and Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley) are all being offered lucrative film roles across the pond.
Jessica's co-star Dan Stevens recently moved to New York for six months to star in the Broadway production of The Heiress, opposite Jessica Chastain.
