Do Kate Middleton’s charity dates point to a royal engagement?

Kate's booked in for a string of royal appointments, and rumours suggest there could be a wedding announcement as soon as June

The royal rumour mill has spun into overdrive yet again, amid reports that Kate Middleton's string of royal engagements will pave the way for a wedding announcement this summer.

It's been revealed Kate has put herself forward to attend several charity events starting this autumn, a role which she'll continue if the pair marry.

‘Kate's name is already down for certain events,' an insider told the Sunday Telegraph.

'She will take a higher profile before the engagement is announced.'

So it seems a wedding could well be on the cards for next summer, with royal biographer Tina Brown suggesting an announcement could take place as soon as June.

'A high-placed source in royal circles tells me that two days in June have been mysteriously blocked out on the palace diaries - June 3 and 4,' she wrote in her blog just last month.

‘They suggest this is a likely date for the engagement announcement at last of the 27-year-old Prince William and his patient squeeze, 28-year-old Kate Middleton.'

William and his lovely beau were spotted out and about in Scotland over the weekend, attending the wedding of their university friend and flatmate Oli Baker.
