The first photos from the Dirty Dancing remake are here!
We are SO excited
We are SO excited
Words by Jadie Troy-Pryde
It has been thirty years since Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey starred in the '80s cult classic that inspired a generation to get their salsa shoes on. Yes, Dirty Dancing taught us everything we know - from style lessons to the ulterior motives of holiday reps. It also made us want to recreate that famous lift until Jennifer explained why filming it was unbearable.
So when we heard that the film was being turned into a TV movie, we obviously had our reservations. Will anyone be able to match Swayze's oozing sex appeal? Should they even try?
However, after taking a few deep breaths, we remembered that no one puts Baby in the corner and it is probably time for her to dust off and get her dancing shoes back on.
With Abigail Breslin (think Little Miss Sunshine and My Sister's Keeper) taking the lead role as Frances 'Baby' Houseman and Colt Pratte playing Johnny Castle, it looks to be the most exciting thing to happen to telly this year (after Big Little Lies, of course).

Other castmates include Sarah Hyland playing Baby's older sister Lisa, Debra Messing as Baby's mum and Nicole Scherzinger as Penny.
This looks SO amazing that we literally can't wait. The three-hour TV movie will be aired on ABC on May 24, so be sure to make a note of it in your diary.
