Lily Allen asked her fans to 'say a little prayer' just the day before suffering her second miscarriage.
Lily – who was six months pregnant with boyfriend Sam Cooper’s child – is said to have been rushed to hospital on Thursday with severe stomach pain. She posted the message on her Twitter account the next day.
Although every effort was made to save her unborn baby, it was confirmed 'with great sadness' that the couple sadly lost the child via an official statement, which read: 'The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made.'
This is the second tragic miscarriage the star has suffered. Back in December 2007 Lily revealed she was pregnant with then-boyfriend, Chemical Brother Ed Simmons’ baby, but lost the baby four months into her pregnancy .
It has been reported that Lily entered hospital after contracting a viral infection, and that complications led to her losing her baby.
Since the sad news was announced, a string of celebrities have tweeted their support for Lily and Sam. Denise Van Outen wrote: 'Such sad news about Lily Allen and Sam. My heart goes out to them, while Dannii Minogue tweeted, 'Love and prayers for Lily Allen'.
