Desperate Housewives characters to 'die' in plane crash

Writer announces shocking twist for new series
Desperate Housewives has never been without drama, but it seems life is set to get particularly tough for its residents when a plane crashes into Wisteria Lane.
The tragic plot will serve as a cliffhanger for the first half of the next season and see houses crushed, as well as several key characters killed off.
The revelation comes after series creator Marc Cherry reassured viewers a plane crash plot would not claim the lives of any original housewives. But according to sources in the US, at least one 'fan favourite' is now facing the chop.
In a further twist, the plane is believed to be the same Oceanic Airlines flight featured in the TV show Lost, opening up opportunities for characters from the drama to feature in the show.
The move, by ABC, is intended to attract more viewers to the shows and follows the success of an innovative promo last year for Hugh Laurie drama House.
We've got to say we're already buying into the prospect of Kate teaching the housewives a thing or two. And Sawyer as the new gardener? We're in!
