The sales director was voted off Lord Sugar’s show, after failing on the first task
Sales Director Dan Harris was the first to be axed from The Apprentice last night, after failing on the first task during Alan Sugar’s BBC show.
Sixteen hopefuls – all fighting it out for a six-figure job at one of the Lord’s firms - were divided into two groups during the first round, in which they were asked to make and sell their own brand of sausages.
The girls’ team got off to a flying start, managing to delegate jobs between them, but the boys got left behind, and began bickering among themselves as their big egos got the better of them.
And Bolshy 34-year-old Dan, who acted as the boys’ team leader on the task, upset his team-mates by barking constant orders, but failing to do any of the work himself.
It seems his strong leadership style didn’t go down well with Alan Sugar, either, who told him: ‘You didn't run them very well. The point is that the sub-team, of which you were the leader, sold naff all,’ before announcing: ‘You’re fired’.
The remaining fifteen candidates hotfooted it back to their luxury London pad, where they were treated to a champagne barbeque for escaping the boardroom.
