Cory Monteith Coroner's Report Reveals How Glee Actor Spent His Last Night

Lea Michele is no doubt going to need some serious support from friends, family and fans today as a coroner's report has revealed exactly how Cory Monteith died.

The actor was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver on July 13, after a night out with friends. While it's been confirmed that the actor died from an overdose of heroin and alcohol, the contents of his room, revealed to the press today, are still incredibly hard to hear.

A coroner's report explains that a hypodermic needle and two empty bottles of champagne were found in the 31-year-old star's room, as well as a spoon with drug residue.

The actor has been open in the past about his drug problems and entered a rehab facility to deal with what he described as 'substance abuse' earlier this year.

Coroner Claire Thompson told authorities: 'It appeared (he) had been dead for several hours. I classify this death as accidental.'

Cory's co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele has already returned to work and is back on the Glee set in New York filming series five of the hit musical show. She's about to embark on filming the third episode of series five, which will see the cast deal with Cory's character's death and pay tribute to him. The actress posted a picture to her Twitter page this week of a necklace around her neck, reading 'Finn', Cory's character's name. How producer Ryan Murphy will tackle the issue of drugs is going to be the most talked-about topic in Hollywood in the coming weeks.
