Corinne Bailey Rae says goodbye to husband Jason
Corinne Bailey Rae yesterday joined more than 100 friends to pay her last respects to her husband, Jason Rae, at his funeral in Leeds.
The Scottish-born musician was a saxophonist in the eight-piece group The Haggis Horns and had played with his wife and other celebrated singers like Amy Winehouse. He died of a suspected overdose and his body was found in a friend's flat in Leeds last month.
Many guests were dressed in kilts, and celebrity attendees included Mark Ronson who said recently of the musician's passing: 'It's such a sad, sad thing, I'm sorry that I can't really put anything into words. However, I will say that he was an incredible dude, a lovely gentle man.'
Corinne was the last to leave the group of mourners gathered at St George's Church where, outside, a hearse waited with the name Jason spelled out in white flowers.
After the service, Corinne was driven in another car to the wake, which was being held at The Wardrobe bar, a local pub in the theatre district where Corinne and Jason held their wedding reception in 2001.
