Christian Bale accused of assaulting mother and sister
Batman star Christian Bale is to be questioned by police over allegations he assaulted his mother and sister on Sunday night.
The star was allowed to attend the premiere of The Dark Knight in London's Leicester Square, but police sources say he will be questioned over the allegations, which were lodged yesterday by the Welsh-born star's mother, Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, who lives in Dorset.
The incident is alleged to have happened on Sunday night in Bale's hotel suite at the Dorchester Hotel.
The allegation was lodged at a station in Hampshire, and has now been referred to the Met Police.
One source told the Daily Mail: 'It would have been wrong to wreck the premiere over a complaint which we do not know yet is founded in truth. Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of what happened.'
Scotland Yard said: 'We can confirm that we have received an allegation from another force in relation to an incident in central London.'
