Cheryl almost broke up with Liam Payne over the phone
But he fought, fought, fought, fought, fought for their love (sorry)

Cheryl and Liam Payne may be pretty loved up at the moment - and, if the rumours are true, bound by holy matrimony - but that doesn't mean that their relationship has come without its ups and downs.
The pair went public with their relationship just over a year ago and have since welcomed their adorably named son, Bear, to the world despite naysayers initially predicting the relationship wouldn't last thanks to the ten year age gap.
But it seems that there was a point when Cheryl also wasn't sure if things were going to work out between them, and she apparently tried to break up with Liam - over the phone.
The One Direction singer told The Sun: 'There's one song [on his debut album] that is basically a phone call that happened between me and her when she was about to let it go.
'This is a long time ago. And it's basically me trying to cling on and say: 'No, no, no it's all going to work out - don't worry about it, give it time.'

Luckily, Liam wasn't going to let anyone steal his girl and one way or another managed to convince Cheryl that they were perfect for each other.
At least it gave him the material to write the best song ever.
(Possibly, we're just trying to squeeze in as many 1D songs as possible here - although considering one of the tracks on his solo album includes the lyrics 'You know that I used to be in 1D, now I'm out free' Liam might not approve. Awkward.)
