Cheryl Cole wrote on Twitter page: 'Feels like I've blinked and we're back in November, its been a crazy year' (sic).

'So proud of what my girls have achieved @CherLloyd and @RebeccaFMusic are doing so well!!'

Cole, 28, posted a link to Rebecca's debut single Nothing's Real But Love, writing: 'Just been watching this...wow.'

Ferguson responded, telling journalists, 'that's made me really happy,' and promising to tweet her back.

But it wasn't all smiles for the former X Factor finalists. There was one person Cheryl failed to mention - the third singer she was supposed to be mentoring, Katie Waissel.

Soon after, Waissel picked up the Twitter feed snub and tweeted a response: 'Ouch lol'
