The X Factor judge will perform with Snow Patrol at Children in Need charity gig
This year's Children in Need looks set to the biggest and best yet, with Robbie already rejoining Take That and news in that Cheryl Cole will team up with Snow Patrol for a special duet.
The X Factor judge is set to perform the band's hit 'Set the Fire to the Third Bar' at the charity gig tomorrow night, and it seems no one is more pleased about it than Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody.
'Everyone doing the gig has to duet with someone,' he said. 'It was like getting a partner at school, and we got the prettiest girl in the class.'
The female vocals for the track, taken from the album 'Eyes Open', were originally recorded by folk-rock singer Martha Wainwright, so we'll be interested to see how it sounds with Cheryl's much more mainstream pop voice.
'People have raised an eyebrow now and again when we've mentioned we're doing it with Cheryl Cole,' said Gary. 'But I think it's going to be a really interesting experience.'
'She said, "What song do you want to do?" and we said that, and she went away and listened to it. She got back straight away and said, "Yeah, I'm up for it." Hats off to her.'

The female vocal is certainly no bit part, so well done to Cheryl for taking it on.
