Cheryl Cole is following in the footsteps of Victoria Beckham, setting a new trend for glamorous celebrities hitting the hills in a pair of hiking boots.

Well, we can't see her boots, but the rest of Cheryl's outfit is certainly telling us she's headed for the mountains.

The Girls Aloud star has shared a series of images on her new Instagram account over the last few days, a welcome change from her countless pictures of her pups. Since Cheryl joined the social picture-sharing site six weeks ago, she's shared snaps of her pet dogs, confidence-boosting quotes and silly memes, but very little images of herself.

But the singer, model and L'Oreal spokesperson looks like she's now taking a leaf out of Victoria Beckham and Beyoncé's books.

Cheryl shared a picture of herself hiking in the desert, dressed in very little aside from a cowboy hat and some tribal-inspired bangles. Other shots show her swimming in the most incredible infinity pool, while her most recent features her dog Buster sitting in her suitcase and begging her not to leave on her mini break. Someone's getting homesick…

Victoria posted pictures of herself hiking in the Hollywood hills last month, proving that she might be an A-lister, but she's more than happy to give the limos, chauffeur-driven cars and red carpets a rest.
