Cheryl Cole filed divorce proceedings yesterday, and is hoping to make a ‘clean break' from Ashley in time for the World Cup in June.

After partying in Cannes last week and stepping out on several red carpets during her 3-day festival stint, Mrs C has obviously decided to come back down to earth with a bump and set legal split proceedings in motion.
Originally, it was thought Cheryl would launch her divorce action in July.
But the star has decided to speed up the process, and has had lawyers working around the clock to ensure a ‘clean break' in time for Ashley to attend the World Cup.
'She knows how vital it is for Ashley to have a completely clear head and concentrate entirely on his football and performance, with no distractions or emotional pulls,' an insider told the Sun.
'She wants a completely clean break with no malice or wrangling over property or money. Cheryl will not take one penny of Ashley's money.'
The Divorce papers citing ‘unreasonable behaviour' - filed at 2pm yesterday - revealed Mrs C will even be letting Ashley keep their 9-bedroom Surrey mansion, aptly named Hurtmore House.
'This divorce will be clean, swift, amicable and smooth. Cheryl has no spite towards Ashley and has been incredibly mature and considered in how she has handled the split,' the insider added.
