Cheryl Cole given US X Factor job to 'pacify' Simon Cowell
According to ex-judge Sharon Osbourne, bosses only offered Cheryl a place on the panel to keep Simon happy
According to ex-judge Sharon Osbourne, bosses only offered Cheryl a place on the panel to keep Simon happy
Yesterday Cheryl Cole assured fans she was 'absolutely fine' after dramatic American X Factor exit, but still the starlet failed to mention exactly why she was axed from the show.
Everything from a clash with Paula Abdul to a lack of sparkle has been cited as the reason for her departure, but now ex-UK judge Sharon Osbourne has waded into the debate, claiming that Cheryl was only offered the job in the first place, to ‘pacify’ Simon Cowell.

The outspoken reality star has said US network bosses knew exactly what they were getting when they hired Mrs C, but could have allowed Simon to hire her as part of his deal.
'That little guy from Fox, Mike Darnell, went to England so many times to see her,’ Sharon said in an online interview. ‘He'd been over to England so many bloody times watching X Factor so he knew what he was getting.
'Maybe they were pacifying Simon by letting him have Cheryl.'

Sharon also voiced her opinions on Dannii Minogue’s departure from the UK show, and how she thinks the ex-judge was also axed from the programme.
'I don't think Dannii was pushed, I think she was f*****g thrown,’ she said of her old arch rival.
'I didn't enjoy working with her but to hand it to her she ended up being really good on the show, she did do good and held her own and you've got to hand it to her.
‘I don't care about what she wrote about me in her book,’ Sharon added, referring to her very public spat with the Aussie star. ‘
When people say things about you, if you don't respect that person or like that person, what does it matter to you.
'People can only hurt you if you really like that person and they don't like you, then it's hurtful.'
