Cheryl Cole shoots down Tre Holloway engagement rumours

We won't be hearing wedding bells for Cheryl Cole and Tre Holloway just yet, the songstress confirmed on Twitter

Cheryl Cole shot down rumours boyfriend Tre Holloway could soon propose over the weekend, telling fans they certainly won't be hearing wedding bells anytime soon.

The songstress took to twitter to rubbish rumours of an engagement to her new beau, after reports suggested Tre had been looking at rings, and even asked her father's permission to pop the question.

The rumours first surfaced in the Sunday Mirror, where sources said things were quickly becoming serious between Cheryl Cole and Tre Holloway.

One source told the paper: 'Cheryl told Tre over Christmas that she was starting to think about marrying again, something she never thought she'd contemplate after her divorce from Ashley.'

The insider added that Tre had even discussed the proposal with Cheryl's dad Gary.

'[Garry] decided to give his permission but asked [him] just to make sure he was 100 per cent sure when he proposed,' they added. 

And soon social networks were buzzing with the news.

But just hours later, Cheryl took to Twitter to shoot down the rumours, revealing she's certainly not about to get engaged or tie the knot.

'Ok.. That's enough silliness... I am not, nor am I getting engaged or married!' she wrote not the social networking site. 'Stop it *Stephen A Smith voice*.'

The reports come just days after Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh admitted she thought Cheryl and new beau Tre could 'go the distance'.

Speaking during an interview on Friday night's Jonathan Ross show, Kimberley said of her singing pal: 'She's known him for quite a long time. A few years, he danced for her the first time years and years ago. Yeah he's a lovely guy so I'm happy that he makes her happy.

'I think it could definitely go the distance, yeah they're really happy.'
