Channing Tatum is going to play a mermaid, officially
Under the sea

Under the sea
There’s really no other way to say it: Channing Tatum is going to play a mermaid.
He’s going to flip his fins, but will he get very far? You know legs are required for walking, and breakdancing, which Tatum is very, very good at. Surely he’ll find a way to dance with a fin…right?
Tatum has just signed on to play a mermaid merman in a remake of the 1984 movie, Splash — you know, the one with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah, with Hannah playing the mermaid, and Hanks playing the lucky fella who finds this mermaid, falls in love, wants to be a part of her world… you know how this story goes.
Now some lucky lady is going to fall in love with Tatum’s merman, and she’s a very funny lady, and we’re suddenly even more excited for this remake. Jillian Bell (from 22 Jump Street, Workaholics, and Idiotsitter) will play Hank’s role, and according to Deadline, SHE’S actually the one who first pitched this remake and (probably) thought to herself, ‘You know who would be a great mermaid? Channing Tatum.’
The movie is still in very early states of production, and all we’ve really got to go on right now is this vision of Tatum under the sea. Also, let’s not forget that Disney made the original Splash, and are making this new one, too. So is there a high chance for like, an Ariel/Sebastian cameo? YOU BET YOUR SEASHELLS, THERE IS.
