Putting on a strong face and stepping out after a break-up is always a tough task, though when you’re a celebrity we’re sure it’s even harder. After Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced that they would be splitting, the Step Up stars have finally made their first public appearances since their separation.
Channing returned to his home state Alabama for the Honda Indy Grand Prix, where he was the grand marshal for the event alongside The Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. The pair were photographed dressed the part in scarlet and black Honda racing suits and took a race car for a spin before the pros took over the track.
Channing posted a couple of photographs of himself at the event alongside Arie, who Insta-storied the two of them being interviewed as cars zoomed past.
On the other hand, Jenna Dewan made her first public appearance last Friday night at a very different event - an annual fundraising gala for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was honoured as their Humanitarian of the Year for her long history of support for St Jude’s.
She looked absolutely stunning in an embroidered Zuhair Murad gown and feathered cape on the red carpet, accompanied by her father Darryll Dewan. Her wedding band was noticeably absent.
In a later post on her Instagram account, she said, ‘Thank you @stjude for this incredible honor! I am so proud of everything you do and continue to do for children❤??’

The former couple met while starring in the dance film Step Up in 2006 and were married for nearly nine years. They have one daughter together, four year old Everly Tatum. Channing and Jenna announced their separation on April 3 in simultaneous social media posts.
Their joint statement said, ‘We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.’
It seems like those paths are keeping the two of them very busy, if their recent engagements are anything to go by. Here’s hoping that both celebs manage to take some much-needed time for themselves amidst their busy schedules.
