Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas are 'taking some time apart,' according to their representatives.
Reports emerged yesterday that the A-list couple, who have been married for 13 years and have two children together, were 'separated,' after sources told People magazine that the two are 'taking a break.'
We're sad to say it's official: reps for both Douglas and Zeta-Jones have released the following statement:
'Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There will be no further comment.'
According to insiders, hardships the two faced as a couple over the years (like Douglas' battle with throat cancer and CZJ's bipolar disorder) have put a serious strain on both of them.
'The stress has taken a toll on their marriage,' a friend told People magazine.
