Cate Blanchett confirms she is pregnant with third child
CATE BLANCHETT IS expecting her third baby.
The Oscar-winning actress ended weeks of speculation after confirming the rumour at the Sydney premiere of her new film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
Asked if she was pregnant on the red carpet, the Australian actress simply replied: 'Yes, I am.'
But Cate wouldn't - or couldn't - confirm whether the baby would be another brother for Dashiell, five, and three-year-old Roman. She said: 'You know more than me. It's early days yet. It's due in April.'
The actress should be able to put her feet up for most of her pregnancy - she's been working non-stop of late, with the Bob Dylan movie, I'm Not There, due for release next month. She has also completed work on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with Harrison Ford, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, co-starring Brad Pitt, both out next year.
The star says she is looking forward to spending more time in her native Australia with writer-director husband, Andrew Upton.
