The couple exchanged vows in Rome over the weekend after giving their families just days' notice

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty married in secret over the weekend, giving friends and family just days' notice to make the ceremony in Rome.

'It was a very intimate service with just 60 friends and family,' a source told The Sun newspaper.

Adding: 'Cat was stunning, she looked absolutely beautiful, and the reception afterwards was pretty quiet too by normal standards.'

'The wedding plans were top secret. Friends of Paddy and Cat only found out in the last few days.'

Cat, 35, apparently wore a ruffled dress with flowers in her hair and had her best pal, DJ Edith Bowman, as a bridesmaid during the ceremony at the St Isidore College Church, which specialises in giving Irish people weddings close to the Vatican.

The presenter and the 41-year-old comedian also footed the bill for guests who flew out on the Friday and Saturday.

Only last month the couple, who have been friends for over a decade and been dating for ten months, dismissed rumours they had got engaged.
