Why Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise are ‘getting it on’

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise are set to star as love interests in a new comedy together.

Billed as more of an action comedy than a typical romcom, it’s relatively new ground for Tom, who usually sticks to action dramas (Mission Impossible, Valkyrie).

But a star performance in the Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder must have whetted his funnyman appetite.

Cameron, on the other hand, is a seasoned romcom and comedy queen, with What Happens in Vegas, The Holiday and There's Something About Mary firmly under her belt.

Tom will play a secret agent who pops in and out of a single woman’s life in the James Mangold-directed movie, with a working title of Wichita.

Cameron, who’s currently enjoying a single-girl holiday after splitting from her boyfriend of one year, Paul Sculfor, will next appear in My Sister’s Keeper – her grittiest role to date, in which she plays a woman trying to keep her leukaemia-struck daughter alive.

‘Wichita’ is slated for release in the summer of 2010 – and we already can’t wait to see what kind of chemistry TomCam has got going on!
