Pop superstar Britney Spears may soon be a judge on the US version of The X Factor, according to reports that claim she is in the final stages of negotiating a $10 million contract.
BRITNEY SPEARS STYLE HIGHS AND LOWS
We think she's done it again - Britney Spears may be making her biggest and best comeback yet. The recently engaged singer is reportedly this close to signing on the dotted line for a place next to Simon Cowell and Epic Records chairman L.A. Reid as a judge on the X Factor USA's panel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a well-placed source has confirmed that Spears' fiancé, agent Jason Trawick, is currently negotiating the singer's contract.
Deadline reports Spears received a $10 million offer to join the show, matching what pop superstar and fellow former Mickey Mouse club protegée Christina Aguilera is earning on reality series, The Voice.
Show creator Simon Cowell, who is looking for judges to replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, said at a press conference a couple of weeks ago: 'Are we flattered there would be interest from Britney Spears? Yes.'

In a radio interview with Billy Bush, Cowell explained: 'I’m fascinated by Britney. The fact that she’s one of the most talked about - not just pop stars but people - in the world today, means that you’ve got this star power.
'This girl has resilience. I would think that if she’s managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, (X Factor would be) a walk in the park.
'I would be fascinated to hear what she has to say. She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records and she’s still controversial. There’s a reason for that.'
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Spears is currently undergoing extensive media training for the role. Janet Jackson was also being considered as a potential judge for the show, but bowed out due to tour commitments.
