Nineteen year old Adele picked for Brits 'next big thing' award
A 19-year-old soul singer from London has been picked for the prestigious 'most likely to make it big in 2008' Brit award. Adele Adkins was chosen by a panel of music industry experts, and will collect her award at next year's Brits on 20 February.
Already boasting fans such as Jo Whiley and Jools Holland, who have both championed her music, Adele is set to release her debut album in January. Speaking of the award, she commented: 'It's fantastic to have lots of people supporting me... I've always wanted a Brit award and I'm made up to be getting one so early on!'
This new award, dubbed the Critics Choice, was open to artists who are signed to a label, but yet to release their first album.
