Bridget Jones's Baby is here... We have the low-down on the film's plot - and the final trailer!
It’s fair to say that Bridget Jones' Diary 3 has encountered more bumps in the road than all of Bridget's relationship-fails put together. However, the good ship that is Bridget Jones' Baby - the third and hugely long-awaited instalment of the movie franchise following 2004's big screen adaptation of The Edge Of Reason - is finally here.
On 5th September 2016, the stars of the movie - including Colin Firth, Renée Zellweger, Patrick Dempsey and Emma Thompson - as well as those from TV, film and music took to the red carpet in London to celebrate the launch of one of the most hotly-anticipated films this year.
Wearing Sciaparelli Couture and Tiffany & Co jewellery, Renée looked absolutely sensational alongside her dashing male co-stars. Click on above to see more of last night's red carpet outfits and the A-List attendees.
And if that hasn't whet your appetite quite enough for the new Bridget Jones instalment, then MC HQ had the UK Facebook Live exclusive with the film's stars Renee Zellweger and Emma Thompson (!) to talk all things Bridget (and her eponymous baby, natch).

Team Jack or Team Darcy? You decide...
Previously the film debuted its first trailer (below).
Back in January 2016, Entertainment Weekly confirmed the storyline for Bridget Jones’ Baby...
Now 43, and still single, Bridget finds out she’s pregnant... But unfortunately for Bridget, she's not sure who the father is. Is it on-and-off again beau Mark Darcy (played by the inimitable Colin Firth) or hot new billionaire Jack Qwant (played by newcomer Patrick Dempsey)?
Renée Zellweger admitted even the cast weren't sure who the father was for a chunk of filming!
Speaking to the Sunday Express, Renée revealed that the cast have filmed THREE different endings to the sequel. 'It's kind of brilliant. None of the cast knows who fathered Bridget's baby or who she'll choose as her beau. The plan is to keep us all in the dark, right up to the premiere.’

While our money’s on Darcy (we’re a sucker for happy endings), the new addition to the cast in the form of McDreamy does seem to offer its advantages. Entertainment Weekly's first photos of the new love triangle shows Renee as she’s flanked by her two love interests, with Patrick even clinging a teddy bear for some inexplicable reason.
Speaking to EW, Renée was excited to return to the iconic character. 'This is part of the new challenge, discovering where she is now in her new life. But as an actress, it feels like stepping back with an old friend. I love this character, I like that she tells stories about what it’s like to be a woman and these really relatable situations at certain times in life. It’s so right to tell a story about Bridget in this stage of her life.'
So no more of this then?

While filming still continues for the movie, Renée was recently spotted in Somerset filming a mock Glastonbury festival scene alongside love interest Patrick Dempsey.
The film is certainly drumming up interest within Hollywood as well, with everyone’s favourite singer, Ed Sheeran even confirming a cameo. Sharing a photo on his Instagram, he wrote: 'Spent the day being an actor in the new Bridget Jones movie. Loved it, you're gonna love it too. We can't wait to see what kind of role Ed will be playing...
In October 2015, Renée Zellweger was pictured, as a very pregnant Bridget, looking exhausted in a slightly haphazard outfit as she sat on the road during filming. We can't wait to find out which memorable scene this comes from - but she had been seen earlier dragging a tree around the streets of London, so we can only assume it's Christmas in the world of the film.
Despite worries that Colin Firth would not be appearing in the film, he was pictured filming scenes with Renee. We're not sure about the plot yet, but it seemed the two characters were having some kind of argument as they fumbled for keys outside the door of their home.
Earlier in October 2015, Renée Zellweger was pictured looking far more dignified and far less frazzled than lovely Bridget usually looks while filming in London, wearing a very chic navy dress and a matching shawl.
She was also pictured without the baby bump that will surely dominate much of the film - could this be the night that she finds out she's pregnant?
Earlier that week, Renée stepped out in full Bridget Jones get-up, fake baby bump and all, on the set in Woolwich, wearing a huge fluffy coat and casual ripped jeans.
In October 2015, the good lot over at the movie's studio Working Title gave us our first glimpse of Renée as Bridget Jones, complete with iPad. (Well, this is 2015, after all.)
Behold...
Excited yet?
But after the rumour mill went into overdrive earlier this month at the news that Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey might be set to star as a potential love interest/rival for Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy respectively, Dempsey confirmed the news in late September 2015, that he will indeed be joining the cast.
We'll give you a moment to calm yourselves...
All good?
The 49-year-old actor confirmed the news on his Instagram account (of course he did, this is 2015 after all) with a picture showing the former Grey's Anatomy star basking in the glorious British weather - umbrella, naturally, at hand - alongside the caption: 'Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with! A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios. I really like it here!'
Rumours of Dempsey's involvement in the third instalment of Bridget Jones' Diary were reported by Deadline in early September 2015 shortly before the movie was set to go into production in the UK. At the time, the publication stated that the 49-year-old Grey's Anatomy star was in "final negotiations" to take on a starring role but unfortunately there's still no word yet on what part he will play.
Dempsey will join original cast members Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth, who will be reprising their roles as the eponymous Bridget and her long-time love interest Mark Darcy, but alas they will be sans everyone's favourite love rat, Daniel Cleaver (played by Hugh Grant).
We thought a love triangle between Hugh and Colin was tough, imagine throwing McDreamy into the mix!
The third film, called Bridget Jones' Baby, is based on Helen Fielding's columns written eight years ago, not her recent novel Mad About the Boy - which will make Mark Darcy fans very happy indeed.
Hugh Grant's departure is a loss for the series, however the 55-year-old previously revealed he wasn't happy with the script.
'I decided not to do it,' said Hugh, in an interview with Free Radio in the Midlands. 'But I think they’re going to go ahead and do it without Daniel. The book’s excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different – well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago.'
That's not the only problem we've caught wind of, though. Last year rumours of a rift between author Helen Fielding and Renee Zellweger were doing the rounds.
Helen sparked rumours of a fall-out when she left her leading lady off of the acknowledgements list in her new book, ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy’, but did pen her thanks to Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. Eek.
'They didn’t really stay in touch after the last film, though Hugh, Colin and Helen all did and have a great working relationship. Everyone expected Helen to thank Renee but it wouldn’t have been sincere because they aren’t good friends,' a source told The Mirror at the time.
Adding: 'The main problem was that Helen, understandably, was very protective over the screenplay and how she saw the role of Bridget being played.
'But Renee had her own very definite views. There was simply a clash of working personalities.'
At least Colin Firth's seeing the funny side. He previously told the Telegraph: 'The way it's going, you might be seeing Bridget Jones's granddaughter's story being told by the time we get there.'
The film is set to be released on September 16 2016. We can’t wait!
