Blink 182 star and DJ AM critical after plane crash
Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and his friend Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM), are in a critical but stable condition after surviving a plane crash that killed four others.
The pals were travelling from Columbia to California when the plane ran into trouble on take-off. The private jet overran the runway, and crashed into several lights before bursting into flames.
Adam, who was once engaged to Nicole Richie, and Travis escaped with burns, but four people died in the crash, including Travis’s bodyguard and Adam’s friend and business partner, Lil’ Chris Baker.
Dr. Fred Mullins of the Augusta, GA’s Joseph Still Burn Centre, where the pair are being treated, said that although they suffered second and third degree burns the friends are expected to make a ‘full recovery’. Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were among a host of celebrities to write notes of sympathy.
On her MySpace blog, Ronson wrote: ‘My good friend Adam was in a plane crash last night, he was lucky to survive but is still in the hospital being treated for burns (so I read). I don't really know what to say, it's such horrifying news, but I was hoping you guys would please send him your best wishes/prayers because I don't really know what else to do.
'Also for Travis Barker, who was on the plane. Four other people were on the plane and did not survive, I can't even imagine the pain their families must be in. Soooooo sad and I'm so sorry. Take good care of yourselves, Samantha xo .’
