Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds skip the Oscars to visit a children's hospital

As the stars prepared for Oscar weekend, Blake Lively and hubby Ryan Reynolds visited a hospital in Ontario

While some of Hollywood's biggest stars prepared for the Oscars over the weekend, Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds swapped their red carpet attire for hospital scrubs, for a visit to a paediatric unit in Canada.

BLAKE LIVELY'S AND RYAN REYNOLDS MARRY!

Blake and Ryan skipped the biggest weekend in the showbiz calendar to visit patients at the Health Sciences North hospital in Sudbury, Ontario.

The couple, who married in September last year, are believed to be staying close by, while Ryan films new flick Queen of the Night in the country.

Patients and staff were said to be delighted by their visit, which saw them meet children and parents at the paediatric unit.

They said the couple were 'very kind'.

'I can tell you the visit was really appreciated by the kids, their parents, and the staff on the unit,' hospital spokesperson Dan Lessard said in an email.

'Mr. Reynolds and Ms. Lively were wonderful with the children.'

Parent Sarah Lavallee told Northern Life.ca: 'Even though he had no idea who they were, my son did give them one big smile,'

'It was nice to see since he wasn't smiling a lot at that point, and I really appreciated both Ryan and Blake giving me something to smile about at such a difficult time.

'It was a very unexpected visit, and I thought it was especially nice of them to take pictures of me with each of them before they left.'

Ahh. We like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds even more, now.
