Amy Winehouse's ex-husband is on a life support machine

Amy Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is fighting for his life in hospital following a 'drink and drugs binge.'

Blake Fielder-Civil was found choking in bed by his girlfriend Sarah Aspin last Friday before being rushed to hospital with multiple organ failure. He is currently on a life-support machine.

The recovering drug addict had spent the day drinking with a friend and is likely to have taken drugs, believes Ms Aspin, who is mother to his 15-month-old son.

Blake, who was married to the late Amy Winehouse, met Sarah in rehab three years ago. He has long battled heroin addiction.

Ms Aspin told The Sun: 'The doctors said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection.

'I'm praying he'll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.'

She says, upon returning home from his binge, he was put to bed but the next morning she woke to find him unconscious having swallowed his tongue and choked on his vomit.

Blake and Amy famously battled their drug demons together throughout their two year marriage from 2007. The world mourned the loss of the singer when Amy passed away following a drinking binge aged just 27, last year.
