The Over-25s contestant ended up in the bottom two with Treyc, after both received the least number of public votes on the show.
With both Cheryl and Louis opting to save their own acts and Dannii choosing to send John home, it was down to Simon to decide which singer would be sent home.
Adding to the tension between himself and fellow judge Louis, Simon decided that it was the end of the road for John and told him later in the evening 'I just don't think you've been looked after properly'.
On Saturday night Louis had criticized Cowell telling Belle Amie that he thought Simon wasn’t paying them enough attention, concentrating on boy band One Direction.

Simon responded by asking Louis why he was being 'bitchy, mean and spiteful'.
Treyc picked Dreamgirls song ‘One Night Only’ for her final performance, while John performed ‘Because Of You’ by Kelly Clarkson when he sang for survival.
