Billy Zane has come forward with how he thinks Titanic *should* have ended
What are your thoughts on this (pretty out there) alternate ending?

Titanic is just one of those movies that because we practically grew up with it, we'll never not be ridiculously attached to it / be able to quote whole chunks of the script at a time / will never not be a on boat and scream 'I'm the king of the world'. And be honest, you've all sobbed uncontrollably as Rose watches her beloved Jack freeze to death in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio were the perfect pair.
But despite the film being released way back in 1997, one of the film's star's Billy Zane - who fans will obviously recall played Rose DeWitt Bukater's awful fiancé Cal Hockley - has come forward almost twenty years after the film was first released with how he thinks the film should have ended (read: completely differently).
And yeah, basically, we just don't know what to do with this information.
So according to Billy Zane, Rose would have been better off staying with smarmy villain Cal.

Speaking on Today, the Guilt actor said: 'I think he found redemption in the end, and I wish he had found her on [the rescue ship] Caparthia and was able to right his wrongs.'
Don't forget though, Cal did pretty much everything in his power to ruin Jack's life and stop he and Rose's whole 'love at first sight' thing from blossoming. He had Jack arrested, chased after the pair through the flooding ship with a gun and to top it all off, tried to trick Rose into getting into a lifeboat without her beau. He was basically the ultimate bad guy.
Despite this, Billy insists that the character was merely 'a little misunderstood' however. 'I wasn't the iceberg!' he said, 'I did not drown 2,000 people!'
Well, this alternate ending idea certainly gives us some food for thought if nothing else. Maybe we should re-watch the film just to be sure...
